Vasiliki Plessia Aravani is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Early Stage Researcher and PhD candidate at the Diplomatische Akademie Wien. She is also a Visiting Researcher at the Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy (CSDS) at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Her doctoral research examines how emerging technologies and science and technology cooperation are transforming military alliances and security partnerships, with a particular focus on the Atlantic security space and its evolving connections with the Indo-Pacific. She holds a Master’s degree in International Security from Sciences Po Paris and has previously worked with NATO’s Science and Technology Organisation and the OECD. Her research interests include transatlantic and Indo-Pacific security, emerging technologies, alliance politics, military innovation, and tech diplomacy.
