Mr Pavle Nedić

Pavle has been employed at the Institute of International Politics and Economics since March 2021 and was appointed as a Research Assistant in November 2023. As part of his work within the Centre for Eurasian Studies, he monitors political developments in Southeast Asia. Since 2023, he has also served as Secretary of the academic journal The Review of International Affairs. From 2023 to 2025, he was a member of the project team for the project COMPASS – Contributing to Modern Partnerships: Assessments of Sino-EU-Serbian Relations. He is the author of numerous articles published in academic journals and edited volumes, and has participated in several national and international academic conferences. His main research interests include theories of international relations, international security, foreign policy analysis, and great power relations, with a particular focus on Southeast Asia. He completed his undergraduate studies in International Politics and his master’s studies in International Security at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade. His MA thesis was titled “Balancing American Power after the Ukraine Crisis: A Case Study of Relations between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China”. He is currently a PhD candidate in International and European Studies at the same faculty. His doctoral dissertation is titled “Application of Kenneth Waltz’s Levels of Analysis in United States Policy toward the Russian Federation from 1993 to 2021”.
