Monika Sus is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw and a Fellow and Adjunct at the Center for International Security at the Hertie School in Berlin. She is also a part-time Professor at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute, where she was previously a Jean Monnet Fellow (2016–2017). Her research interests lie primarily in international relations, particularly in the study of the European Union’s foreign, security, and defence policy and in the investigation of the institutional dynamics between the supranational and national level in EU foreign policy making. Her articles have appeared in International Affairs, Journal of Common Market Studies, Geopolitics, Contemporary Security Policy, Journal of European Integration, The British Journal of Politics and International Relations, West European Politics, among others.
