David Morgan-Owen teaches international relations at the University of St Andrews. He works on the history of war and strategy, and his research has been supported by the National Maritime Museum, the William Lind Foundation, and the British Academy. His first book, The Fear of Invasion: Strategy, Politics, and British War Planning, 1880-1914 was awarded the Templer Medal for best first book by the Society for Army Historical Research. He has also won the Julian Corbett Prize in Modern Naval History.
